What is in the ZIP
- web/: favicon.ico (16, 32 and 48 px inside), favicon-16x16.png, favicon-32x32.png, apple-touch-icon.png (180 px), android-chrome 192 and 512 px, and site.webmanifest. Upload them to your site's root folder.
- ios/AppIcon.appiconset/: the 1024 px icon and Contents.json. Replace the AppIcon folder in your Xcode asset catalog. Current Xcode versions make all smaller sizes from it.
- android/: ic_launcher.png and ic_launcher_round.png in mipmap-mdpi to mipmap-xxxhdpi (48–192 px), plus a 512 px Play Store icon. Copy the mipmap folders into app/src/main/res.
- sizes/ (optional): square PNGs from 16 to 1024 px for game engines like Unity, Godot or Unreal, and for itch.io or Steam pages.
Tip: keep important details away from the edges. Android and iOS crop icons into circles and rounded squares, so about 6–10% padding is safe.
Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about the app icon & favicon generator tool.
What size should my source image be?
At least 1024 × 1024 px, square, and ideally a PNG. Smaller images work, but the large icons will look soft.
Why does the iOS icon have a white background?
Apple does not allow transparent app icons. If you don't choose a background color, white is used for iOS only.
Does the favicon.ico work in all browsers?
Yes. It contains 16, 32 and 48 px images, the sizes browsers and Windows use for tabs, bookmarks and shortcuts.
Can I make icons for pixel art games?
Yes. Turn on Pixel art so the icons are scaled without blurring.
Is my artwork uploaded?
No. All icons are made in your browser.
