Choosing a good watermark

  • For sharing on social media: a small name or logo in a corner at 50–70% opacity keeps the photo pleasant to look at.
  • For previews and proofs: use Tile at 25–35% opacity. It covers the whole photo, so it can't simply be cropped away.
  • Logo: a PNG with a transparent background looks best. Your logo is remembered in this browser for next time.
  • Text on busy photos: keep Shadow on so white text stays readable on light areas.

Sizes are a share of each photo's width, so the watermark looks the same on small and large photos.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about the add watermark tool.

Can I watermark many photos at once?

Yes. Drop as many as you like. The same watermark is added to all of them, and you can download them together as a ZIP.

Can I use my logo as a watermark?

Yes. Choose Logo and pick an image. A PNG with a transparent background works best. It is remembered in this browser.

How do I stop people from cropping out the watermark?

Choose Tile across the whole photo. The watermark repeats diagonally over the full photo.

Does it reduce photo quality?

No. Photos keep their size. JPG is saved at 92% quality by default, or choose PNG for no loss at all.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Watermarks are added in your browser. Your photos never leave your device.
