NEET UG 2026 Photo Size, Signature and Thumb Impression Rules
The NTA rules for the NEET photo, signature and finger impressions, explained simply, with a checklist before you upload.
NEET rejections usually come from the photo, not the size: a face that is too small, a busy background, or a mask. Here is what NTA's 2026 bulletin asks for.
Photo rules
- JPG/JPEG, 10–200 KB.
- Your face, including both ears and without a mask, fills about 80% of the photo.
- White background, taken in the exam year. Colour or black & white both work.
Other uploads
- Signature: JPG, 10–100 KB.
- Left and right hand finger and thumb impressions: the bulletin mentions 10–200 KB and 50–300 KB in different places. A file of 50–200 KB satisfies both.
- Certificates: PDF, 50–300 KB. Make them with JPG to PDF and shrink them with Compress PDF.
Checklist before you upload
- Is your face big enough? Crop until it fills most of the frame.
- Is the background plain white?
- Are both ears visible, with no mask or cap?
- Does the resizer show ✓ inside the KB range?
